Simplyhealth is a mutual health organisation with its roots in hospital funds that helped people save for their medical care. Over time, they have evolved to provide people with a variety of means to pay for health, dental and pet care whilst still holding their core values close. The business intent is to diversify through innovation with a strong desire to launch new products and services into the market – grounded in Everyday Healthcare.
We presented Simplyhealth with a bold ideation strategy that would launch the business into a new way of thinking about ideation, innovation and idea development whilst allowing for parallel organic growth through existing foundations.
Realising the unharnessed potential within the Simplyhealth community, our approach was a series of structured and facilitated workshops that provide a springboard towards a longer journey of discovery and innovation.
RT, with the help of hand-selected ideation facilitators, developed a series of workshops that nurtured an entrepreneurial mindset, re-aligned employees with Simplyhealth’s goals and built optimism and enthusiasm around their innovative contributions.
By delivering tailored recruitment videos, we filled 100% of our workshop spaces within days of announcement and employees left the sessions with high satisfaction, optimism and enthusiasm about the process we developed with Simplyhealth for future idea proposition.
Through our ideation sessions, we re-aligned employees with Simplyhealth’s wider company ambitions, generated a genuine excitement about the company’s future and made an invaluable contribution to the brand they live and breath every day.
With employees engaged in the entrepreneurial mindset and excited about future proposition development, we understood the importance of developing a robust infrastructure for Simplyhealth to continue innovating.
Working closely with Simplyhealth, we developed a series of filtration criteria that allows proposals to be analysed and workflows in place to develop these ideas into fully-fledged business propositions. These processes firmly cemented the entrepreneurial ethos with Simplyhealth and its employees, giving them the architecture to develop innovation to its greatest potential.
90 employees completed Level 1 of our ideation programme, creating over 284 ideas and concepts and developed those into 35 unique business propositions. Our workshops were rated “great and excellent” by 84% of attendees in both facilitation and value, with 100% of attendants saying they would recommend RTs Ideation Lab to a colleague.
