Brand repositioning for new Sony company


Memnon was acquired by Sony for their industry-leading digital preservation and archiving services. The brand needed more accurately represent its new position in the market before it was unveiled at The International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) which attracts over 55,000 industry professionals each year.

Through our brand development process, we repositioned the brand and expressed its new proposition through a vibrant suite of materials. Having worked with Sony for more than 15 years, we were the perfect partner to align Memnon’s unique expertise with Sony’s heritage and legacy of audio-visual technologies.

How we did it

Our prior knowledge and proven experience shaped a trusted relationship between rt and Memnon. We worked closely to define ambitions, challenges and aspirations that would influence Memnon’s brand strategy and tell it through a new, refreshed video crafted by us to showcase at the event.

After a full website audit and content review, the website was rebuilt with a fresh design, and the new video was added as a main feature on the homepage. We were also then able to develop an engaging concept for Memnon’s event stand and brochures to express their new brand identity.

Memnon’s services and expertise are recognised by highly-regarded institutions all the world over. With the new assets created, their offering is enhanced by a rich compelling brand. The event stands and brochures showcased a massive brand presence at IBC and enabled the team to communicate their professionalism with clarity. With fully engaged visitors at the stand, the relevant audience were aligned to the Memnon purpose. This will create lasting value and recognition as Memnon continues to evolve.
